TiviMate works as a free app, but many people eventually look at TiviMate Premium — the paid upgrade that unlocks extra features in the player. Buying and activating it involves a few moving parts that confuse first-time users: a separate phone app called TiviMate Companion, an account, and a sign-in step on the TV itself.

Quick answer: TiviMate Premium is an optional paid upgrade to the TiviMate player, sold by the app's developer. You buy it in the TiviMate Companion app on an Android phone, where you also create your TiviMate account, then sign in to that account in TiviMate's settings on your TV. Premium adds player features only — it does not include any channels.

This guide explains what Premium is, what it typically adds, how the Companion app and your account fit together, how to log in on your TV, and how to fix the most common activation problems.

TiviMate IPTV (this website) is an independent IPTV subscription service. We are not affiliated with the developer of the TiviMate app and do not sell TiviMate Premium.

What TiviMate Premium is

TiviMate is an IPTV player app for Android TV–based devices. It is developed and published by its own independent developer. The app is free to install and use, and TiviMate Premium is an optional paid upgrade from that developer that unlocks additional player features.

Two points are worth being clear about from the start:

  • Premium upgrades the player, not the content. TiviMate — free or Premium — does not include any TV channels, films or series. Everything you watch comes from a separate IPTV subscription that you add to the app.
  • Premium is sold by the app's developer. IPTV services do not sell it, and an IPTV subscription does not include it.

If you are new to the app, our guide to the TiviMate IPTV player explains how the player works before you decide whether to upgrade.

Is there a "TiviMate Pro"?

Many people search for "TiviMate Pro". The paid tier of the app is called TiviMate Premium, and "Pro" is generally used informally to mean the same upgrade. If you see an app or download advertised as a separate "TiviMate Pro" edition outside the official channels, treat it with caution — it is not the official way to get Premium features, and modified app files can put your device and accounts at risk. Our article on TiviMate mod APKs and "unlocked" versions explains the risks in more detail.

What TiviMate Premium adds

The developer decides exactly which features are free and which require Premium, and this can change between versions. Features commonly associated with Premium include:

  • Multiple playlists — add and switch between more than one playlist.
  • Advanced favourites — create and organise custom favourites lists.
  • Catch-up — watch past programmes from the TV guide, on channels where your IPTV service supports catch-up.
  • Recording — record programmes to device or external storage, where the device and content allow it.
  • Multi-view — watch more than one channel on screen at once.
  • Reminders — get notified before a programme starts.
  • Extra customisation — additional appearance and interface options.

Features that depend on your IPTV service, such as catch-up, only work when the service provides them. Premium cannot add catch-up to a channel that does not support it. For how catch-up relates to the TV guide, see our TiviMate EPG guide.

Before buying, check the developer's own information for the current feature list.

The TiviMate Companion app explained

Premium is not bought inside the TV app itself. Instead, the developer provides a separate Android phone app called TiviMate Companion.

The Companion app is used to:

  • Create your account
  • Purchase Premium
  • View and manage your Premium status

The Companion app runs on Android phones and tablets. It is not a player — you do not watch channels in it. It exists to handle the purchase and account side, which is easier on a phone than with a TV remote.

Getting the Companion app

Install TiviMate Companion from the official Google Play Store listing on an Android phone or tablet. Check the developer name on the listing before installing, and avoid copies from unofficial websites. If you do not have an Android phone, check the developer's official information for current purchase options.

How your TiviMate account works

Your TiviMate account links your Premium purchase to your devices.

  • The account is created in the Companion app.
  • Premium is purchased through the Companion app and attached to that account.
  • On each TV device, you sign in to the same account inside the TV app to activate Premium there.

The developer sets how many devices can use Premium on one account and what purchase options are available, such as recurring or one-time options. These details can change, so confirm them in the Companion app before buying.

Keep your account details private. Sharing them can lead to the account being restricted and makes it harder to manage your own devices.

How to buy and activate TiviMate Premium: step by step

The exact screens can differ slightly between versions, but the process follows this pattern:

  1. Install TiviMate on your TV device. Follow our TiviMate IPTV setup guide if you have not added a playlist yet.
  2. Install TiviMate Companion on an Android phone from the official Google Play listing.
  3. Create an account in the Companion app.
  4. Choose a Premium option in the Companion app, review the price and terms shown, and complete the purchase through Google Play.
  5. Open TiviMate on your TV and go to Settings.
  6. Find the Premium or account section and choose to sign in.
  7. Enter the same account details you created in the Companion app.
  8. Confirm that Premium is active. Premium features should now be available on that device.

Repeat steps 5–8 on any other device you want to use, within the device limit set by the developer.

TiviMate login: signing in on your TV

The TiviMate login step connects the TV app to your account. Typing an email address and password with a remote can be slow, so take care with each character — a single typo is the most common reason sign-in fails.

A few practical tips:

  • Use the same email address you registered in the Companion app.
  • Check whether your password contains similar-looking characters, such as a capital I and a lowercase l.
  • Make sure the TV device is connected to the internet during sign-in.
  • If the app offers an alternative sign-in method, check the on-screen instructions carefully.

Is TiviMate Premium worth it?

Whether Premium is worth paying for depends on how you watch:

Premium is often worth considering if you:

  • Use more than one playlist
  • Want catch-up, and your IPTV service supports it
  • Record programmes regularly
  • Want to organise many channels into custom favourites
  • Watch several channels at once, for example during sports events

The free version may be enough if you:

  • Use a single playlist
  • Mainly watch live TV channel by channel
  • Rarely use catch-up or recording

Remember that Premium does not improve stream quality or add content. Picture quality depends on your IPTV service, device and internet connection.

Common Premium problems and fixes

Premium is not showing as active

  • Confirm you signed in with the same account used for the purchase.
  • Restart the app, then the device.
  • Check the purchase status in the Companion app.
  • Make sure the device has a working internet connection.

"Too many devices" or device limit messages

Your account may already be active on the maximum number of devices. Check the Companion app or account settings for options to manage devices, and sign out of devices you no longer use.

Premium stopped working after a reset

Resetting a device or clearing app data signs you out. Sign in again in the app's settings with your account details.

The Companion app will not install

The Companion app is for Android phones and tablets. It may not be available on some devices or in some regions. Check the developer's official information for alternatives.

Premium features do not work on some channels

Features like catch-up depend on your IPTV service. If a channel does not support catch-up, Premium cannot enable it. Contact your IPTV provider to confirm which channels support it.

Getting the most from Premium features

Once Premium is active, a little setup makes the extra features far more useful:

  • Multiple playlists. Give each playlist a clear name so you can tell them apart in the playlist switcher, and hide groups you do not need in each one.
  • Favourites. Create a small number of focused favourites lists — for example news, sports and family — rather than one long list.
  • Catch-up. Catch-up is opened from the TV guide, so it depends on accurate guide data. If programmes appear at the wrong times, fix the guide first using our TiviMate EPG guide.
  • Recording. Check how much free storage your device has before recording. An external drive can help on devices with little internal space, where the device supports it.
  • Multi-view. Watching several streams at once uses more bandwidth and processing power. A wired connection and a capable device help.

Managing Premium over time

A few situations come up regularly after the first activation:

Moving to a new TV device

Install TiviMate on the new device, add your playlist, then sign in to your account in the Premium or account section of the settings. If you have reached the device limit, sign out of the device you are replacing first.

Reinstalling the app

Uninstalling the app or clearing its data removes the sign-in from that device. After reinstalling, sign in again with the same account. Your purchase stays attached to the account, not to the installation.

Checking renewal and purchase details

Purchases made through Google Play are managed in your Google Play account on the phone used for the purchase. Check there, and in the Companion app, for renewal dates and purchase status.

Forgotten account details

Use the account recovery options offered in the Companion app. Keep your account email address current so you can recover access if needed.

Premium and your IPTV subscription

It is worth repeating because it causes so much confusion: Premium and an IPTV subscription are separate purchases from separate companies.

  • TiviMate Premium comes from the app's developer and upgrades the player.
  • An IPTV subscription comes from an IPTV service and provides the channels, on-demand content and TV guide data.

You need an IPTV subscription to watch anything in TiviMate, whether or not you have Premium. If you need one, you can compare our IPTV plans, which work with TiviMate and other compatible players, or read how our service works.

Frequently asked questions

Is TiviMate Pro the same as TiviMate Premium?

The paid tier of the app is called TiviMate Premium. People often say "TiviMate Pro" informally to mean the same upgrade. Be cautious of anything sold as a separate "Pro" edition outside official channels.

What is the TiviMate Companion app used for?

TiviMate Companion is a separate Android phone app from the same developer. It is used to create your account and purchase and manage Premium. It is not used for watching channels.

How do I log in to TiviMate on my TV?

Open TiviMate on your TV, go to Settings, find the Premium or account section, and sign in with the same account details you created in the TiviMate Companion app.

Does TiviMate Premium include channels?

No. Neither the free app nor Premium includes channels. You watch content by adding a playlist or login from a separate IPTV subscription.

How many devices can use one TiviMate Premium account?

The device limit is set by the app's developer and can change. Check the current limit in the Companion app before buying.

Why is TiviMate Premium not activating?

The most common causes are signing in with a different account from the one used to buy Premium, a typo in the login details, no internet connection, or reaching the device limit. Check the account in the Companion app, sign in again and restart the app.

Do I need TiviMate Premium to watch IPTV?

No. The free version of TiviMate lets you add a playlist and watch live TV. Premium only adds extra player features.
